Definition
稠 (chóu) describes a liquid that is thick in consistency (e.g., porridge, sauce) or a population/crowd that is dense. For liquids, 浓 (nóng) means 'concentrated' (strong flavor, color, fog) rather than thick; for density of objects, 密 (mì) is more general (e.g., dense forest, population).
