Definition
穿越 (chuān yuè) means to cross through an area or barrier, such as a forest, and can also mean to time-travel (often with 到). Compared to the simpler 穿过 'pass through', 穿越 emphasizes traveling from one side to the other, often through a challenging or defined space. It is distinct from 跨 ('step over') and 跨越 ('leap over'), which focus on crossing a single line or obstacle.
