签订 (qiān dìng) means to sign a formal treaty, contract, or agreement, emphasizing the official conclusion of the deal. It differs from 签字 (qiān zì), which is the physical act of signing your name, and is less formal than 签署 (qiān shǔ), used mostly in official/literary contexts.
