Definition
糊涂 describes a state of being confused or muddled in one's thinking, often temporarily. It differs from 笨 (inherently slow-witted), 傻 (foolish or naive), and 愚蠢 (stronger, more formal insult), as 糊涂 is about mental fogginess rather than a fixed intellectual trait. 茫然 (máng rán) is closer but emphasizes being at a loss in a specific moment, while 糊涂 can be a more general condition.
