Definition
纪律 (jì lǜ) refers to the system of rules and order that people are expected to follow, such as in a school or army. It is different from 科 (kē), which means a field of study or academic discipline. While 管教 (guǎn jiào) and 处分 (chǔ fèn) describe the act of disciplining or punishing, 纪律 is the set of rules itself.
