Definition
纳税 (nà shuì) is a separable verb meaning 'to pay taxes' — it is used exclusively for taxes. Its siblings 缴纳 and 交纳 are broader, covering taxes, fees, fines, and dues; 缴纳 is more formal than 交纳. Unlike 纳税, which splits (纳了税), 缴纳 and 交纳 are single verbs that take an object directly.
