Definition
翘 (qiào) describes a part of something sticking up or tilting upward from its normal flat position — like hair, a table leg, or a lip. It differs from 斜 (xié 'slanted, tilted'), which describes a general slant of a line or surface, and from 倾斜 (qīng xié 'to lean, to tilt'), which is more formal and often refers to a whole structure leaning.
