Definition
腐烂 (fǔ làn) is the most general word for organic matter rotting or decomposing naturally. For political/social corruption, 腐败 (fǔ bài) is the standard term; 腐朽 (fǔ xiǔ) emphasizes decay from age or neglect, often of wood or outdated systems.
