Definition

荣获 (rónghuò) is a formal, honorific verb meaning 'to be honored with' or 'to win (an award/title)'. Unlike 获奖 (huò jiǎng), which is intransitive and simply means 'win an award', 荣获 takes a direct object (e.g. 金牌/称号) and emphasizes the honor of receiving it. 授予 (shòuyǔ) is the opposite action: 'to confer/award' someone an honor.
