Definition
萃 (cuì) is a bound form (b.f.) meaning 'to gather together' or 'to assemble'. It appears in literary compounds such as 荟萃 (huìcuì, to gather) and the chengyu 出类拔萃 (chū lèi bá cuì, to stand out from the crowd). It is also the name of the 45th hexagram (䷬) in the I Ching, though this usage is rare outside classical contexts.
