贬值 (biǎn zhí) means 'to devalue, to depreciate' — used for currency, assets, or value decreasing. It is different from 贬低 (biǎn dī), which means 'to belittle or disparage' someone or something. Its opposite is 升值 (shēng zhí), 'to appreciate in value'.
