Definition
足以 (zú yǐ) is a formal verb meaning 'sufficient to, enough to' — it states that a condition or quality meets a threshold. Unlike 甚至 (shèn zhì 'even, so much so that'), which emphasizes an extreme addition, 足以 simply asserts adequacy. Unlike 以便 (yǐ biàn 'so that, in order to'), which introduces a purpose, 足以 focuses on the sufficiency of the cause itself.
