Definition
距 (jù) is a formal, written verb used to state a specific measured distance apart in space or time, often with a number (e.g., 相距10公里). It is more concise than the everyday verb 离 (lí 'from') and the noun/verb 距离 (jùlí 'distance'). Unlike 远离 (yuǎn lí 'far away') or 隔 (gé 'separated by'), 距 focuses on the exact measurement, not the degree or barrier.
