跟斗 is a noun meaning 'somersault' or 'fall (as in tripping over)'. It's most commonly used in the verb-object phrase 翻跟斗 ('do a somersault') and the resultative verb 摔跟斗 ('fall down, trip'). It's a colloquial word, more common in northern Mandarin than in formal writing.
