Definition
迁就 (qiān jiù) means to accommodate or yield to someone's wishes, often reluctantly to avoid conflict. It differs from 迎合 (yíng hé), which suggests actively pandering to gain approval, and from 将就 (jiāng jiu), which is about making do with imperfect things. 迁就 is typically used in interpersonal situations where one side gives in.
