Definition
过硬 describes skills, quality, or competence that are solid and up to a high standard, often implying they have been tested and proven. Unlike 可靠 (reliable for people/things) or 踏实 (steady and thorough in work), 过硬 is specifically used for proven expertise. For cautious, well-considered plans, 稳妥 is more appropriate.
