Definition
连夜 (lián yè) means 'that very night' or 'without delay until the next day', often with a sense of urgency or immediacy. Unlike 通宵 (tōng xiāo) and 彻夜 (chè yè), which simply mean 'all night long' (duration), 连夜 emphasizes acting promptly that same night, and can also mean 'for several consecutive nights'.
