Definition
逗笑 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to make someone laugh' or 'to amuse'. The verb 逗 carries the action of teasing or amusing, and 笑 is the result (laughter). When you want to add a measure word or duration, the two syllables split: 逗他笑 ('make him laugh'), 逗得大家笑 ('tease everyone into laughter'). You can also use it as a complement after another verb: 说笑话逗笑 ('tell jokes to make people laugh').
