Definition
鄙视 (bǐ shì) conveys strong contempt and moral disdain for someone or something, often implying a judgment of inferiority or unworthiness. It is more emotionally charged than the colloquial 看不起 (kàn bu qǐ 'look down on') and more active than the literary 蔑视 (miè shì 'despise, scorn'). Use it for actions or people you find morally reprehensible.
