Definition
酒吧 (jiǔ bā) is a place where people go to drink alcoholic beverages — a bar or pub. Don't confuse it with 酒店 (jiǔ diàn), which is a hotel (or sometimes a restaurant), not a drinking establishment. Also, 柜台 (guì tái) can mean 'bar' in the sense of a counter or service desk, not a bar/pub.
