里头 (lǐ tou) is a colloquial, everyday word for 'inside' or 'interior,' common in spoken Mandarin. It is more informal than 里面 (lǐ miàn, standard neutral) and much less formal than 内 (nèi, written/formal). Use 里头 in casual conversation; for formal writing, prefer 内 or 内部.
