Definition
非盈利 is a common orthographic variant of 非营利 (fēi yíng lì, 'non-profit'). The standard form uses 营利 (to seek profit), while 盈利 means 'profit' as a noun. Despite being considered erroneous by some purists, 非盈利 is widely used in practice to describe organizations, activities, or institutions that do not seek profit.
