Definition
领教 is a fixed expression (f.e.) with two contrasting uses. In polite, formal contexts it is a humble way to say 'thanks for the advice' or 'much obliged', often used when receiving a compliment or instruction. In a derogatory or sarcastic sense it means 'to experience or get a taste of (something unpleasant)' — you have learned a lesson from someone's bad behavior. The tone and situation determine which meaning applies.
