Definition
骑手 literally means 'a person who rides', originally referring to horseback riders. In modern usage, it also commonly refers to delivery drivers (especially food delivery riders, such as those on bikes or scooters) — a sense that has become very common in urban China with the rise of delivery apps. The word is a noun formed from 骑 (to ride) and 手 (a suffix meaning 'person skilled in or engaged in an activity').
