Definition
高压 (gāo yā) means 'high pressure' — in weather, physics, machinery, or as 'high voltage' (高压电). It also extends to oppressive, high-handed policies. Unlike 高温 (high temperature), 高价 (high price), 高空 (high altitude), or 高血压 (high blood pressure), 高压 is specifically about pressure, not other 'high' measures.
