Expressing "anyway" with 反正
Use 反正 to mean 'anyway' or 'in any case', placed after a comma to disregard previous conditions. It often pairs with 不管 in the first clause to indicate the situation doesn't matter.
Structure
不管……，反正……
The first clause states a disregarded condition, commonly introduced by 不管.
……，反正……
After stating a situation that doesn't affect the result, use 反正 to introduce the main point.
Examples
- 不管他去不去，反正我要去。Bù guǎn tā qù bu qù, fǎn zhèng wǒ yào qù.Regardless of whether he's going or not, I'm going anyway.
- 不管你信不信，反正我信。Bù guǎn nǐ xìn bu xìn, fǎn zhèng wǒ xìn.No matter whether you believe this or not, I believe it anyway.
- 不管他爸爸是谁，反正我要告他。Bù guǎn tā bà ba shì shuí, fǎn zhèng wǒ yào gào tā.No matter who his father is, I'm going to sue him anyway.
- 随便别人怎么想，反正我无所谓。Suí biàn bié rén zěn me xiǎng, fǎn zhèng wǒ wú suǒ wèi.Other people can think whatever they want. I don't really care what people think.
- 说不说都一样，反正没有人会听我的。Shuō bu shuō dōu yí yàng, fǎn zhèng méi yǒu rén huì tīng wǒ de.Whether I speak or not, it's all the same. Nobody is going to listen to me anyway.
