Expressing "more and more" with 越来越

Use 越来越 before an adjective to indicate a gradual increase in degree over time, often translated as 'more and more'. The pattern typically ends with 了 to mark the ongoing change. Remember not to insert other adverbs like 很 between 越来越 and the adjective.

Structure

Subj. + 越来越 + Adj. + 了
the adjective describes a state or quality
Subj. + Verb + 得 + 越来越 + Adj. + 了
when the verb is followed by a degree complement, 越来越 attaches to the adjective
