Cause/Effect StatementsHSK 6

Using "because" with 而 to indicate effect

This structure uses 因为 (or just 因) to state a cause, followed by 而 to introduce the resulting effect. It's common in written Chinese and more formal speech. Be careful not to omit 而 when a cause is given—it's needed to link to the effect.
