毕竟 (bì jìng) — after all, ultimately

Definition

毕竟 is a concessive 'after all' that justifies or reminds the listener of a fact that explains the situation. Unlike 到底 and 究竟, it is not used in questions; unlike 终究, it explains rather than signals inevitability.
