Comparing specifically with 像
Use 像…一样 to make 'as... as' or 'like' comparisons, placing the two things you’re comparing around 像 and 一样. Omitting 一样 turns the comparison into a simple statement of resemblance without comparing degree.

Noun 1 + 像 + Noun 2 + 一样 + Adj. / Verb
一样 is required for degree comparison; omitting it changes the meaning to simple resemblance.

- 她有时候像小孩一样天真。Tā yǒu shí hou xiàng xiǎo hái yí yàng tiān zhēn.She's as naive as a little kid sometimes.
