Definition
停泊 (tíng bó) is a formal, written verb specifically for ships or boats anchoring or mooring. Unlike 停 (tíng) or 停车 (tíng chē), which are for vehicles parking or stopping, and unlike 停放 (tíng fàng), which can be used for vehicles or boats but is more general, 停泊 is exclusively nautical and implies a vessel securing itself at a dock, port, or anchorage.
