Definition
册封 is a formal verb referring to the imperial or royal act of granting a title or territory to a noble. It appears frequently in historical texts and dramas. The object of the enfeoffment can be either the person receiving the title or the title itself (e.g. 册封他为公爵 'enfeoff him as a duke').
