Definition
决意 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to be determined' or 'to make up one's mind'. The verb 决 and the noun 意 can split: you can insert 了 after 决 (决了意 'resolved') or a measure word like 一次 (决过一次意 'resolved once'). It is often followed by 要 to introduce what one has resolved to do.
