Definition
况且 (kuàng qiě) means 'moreover, besides' and is used to add a further point that reinforces an argument or reason. It is more formal and literary than the everyday 而且 (ér qiě) or 再说 (zài shuō). Unlike 何况 (hé kuàng), which has the special pattern 'let alone / to say nothing of', 况且 simply adds an additional supporting point.
