Definition
凑合 means to make do with whatever is available, often by improvising or piecing things together out of necessity. Compared to 对付 (to handle/cope with a situation or person) and 将就 (to reluctantly put up with something), 凑合 focuses on the act of using what you have to get by, and can also describe a result that is passable but not great.
