Definition
凹凸 describes a surface that has both concave (凹) and convex (凸) parts — i.e., not flat or smooth. It is a stative verb (v.p.) that can be used as a predicate (e.g., 路面凹凸不平) or as an attribute (e.g., 凹凸的表面). Beyond physical surfaces, it can also be used metaphorically to refer to ups and downs in situations or relationships.
