Definition
受理 (shòu lǐ) means 'to accept and handle' an application, complaint, or case through an official channel (court, bank, government office). It is the formal, procedural step of taking on a matter for processing, unlike 接受 (generic acceptance) or 审理 (the actual hearing/trial). Compared to 承接 (contracting a project), 受理 is limited to complaints, cases, and requests that require official review.
