Definition
干部 (gàn bù) refers to a cadre or leading member within a party, government, or state-owned enterprise — a key term in China's political and organizational system. It is more specific than 官 (guān, a general official) or 官员 (guān yuán, a formal government official), and distinct from 经理 (jīng lǐ, a business manager).
