Definition
开场 (kāi chǎng) means 'to begin' specifically for a performance, show, film, game, or other public event. Unlike general 开始 (kāi shǐ), which can start anything, 开场 is restricted to the start of a staged or televised event. It also differs from 开幕 (kāi mù), which refers to the formal opening of a conference or exhibition.
