Definition
开场白 refers to the opening remarks of a speech, meeting, or article, as well as the prologue of a play. Unlike 序幕 (xù mù), which is the prelude of a performance or event (often metaphorical), and 序言 (xù yán), which is the preface of a book or written work, 开场白 is the spoken or written introduction that starts an event or text.
