感恩 (gǎn ēn) expresses a deep, heartfelt gratitude, often as a general attitude toward life or people, rather than a specific act of thanking. It is more profound than 感谢 (gǎn xiè, 'to thank'), which is the action of expressing thanks, and more encompassing than 感激 (gǎn jī, 'to appreciate'), which focuses on strong appreciation for a particular kindness.
