Definition
抵挡 is the everyday verb for resisting or withstanding an attack, temptation, pressure, etc. It's less formal than 抵御 (dǐ yù, often physical defense like weather or invasion) and less aggressive than 抵抗 (dǐ kàng, active fighting back). Not to be confused with 挡 (dǎng), which means to physically block or shield.
