Definition
推卸 (tuī xiè) means to shirk responsibility or shift blame onto others. Unlike 逃避 (táo bì), which can mean evading any situation (e.g., danger, work), 推卸 is specific to duties or blame. The verb 嫁 (jià) can also mean 'to shift blame' in formal phrases like 嫁祸于人, but 推卸 is more common in everyday speech for responsibility.
