Definition
敢 (gǎn) is a common verb for 'dare to' in everyday speech. It is more direct than 敢于 (gǎn yú, HSK5) and 勇于 (yǒng yú, HSK6), both of which are more formal and appear in writing. 敢于 simply means 'dare to', while 勇于 adds a sense of courage.
