Definition
没用 is both a stative verb ('useless') and a verb-object phrase (没 + 用, literally 'have no use'). As a stative verb, it's used predictively (这东西没用 'this thing is useless') and attributively (没用的东西 'useless thing'). As a verb-object phrase, you can separate it to add modifiers: 没什幺用 ('not much use'), 没多大用 ('not much use at all').
