Definition
没 (méi) is the negative adverb used to negate possession (with 有) and to negate past actions (perfective negation). It indicates that something does not exist or that an action has not occurred. Unlike 不, which is used for present, future, or habitual negation, 没 is specifically for completed actions or states. Common patterns: 没有 + noun (no noun), 没 + verb (didn't verb).
