活期 (huó qī) is a banking term meaning 'current, checking, demand' — used only for accounts or deposits that can be withdrawn anytime. Unlike 现任 (current position/incumbent) and 现行 (current in effect, for laws/policies), 活期 is restricted to financial contexts. It always pairs with 账户 (account) or 存款 (deposit).
