Definition
溺爱 means to spoil or dote on someone (usually a child or a pet) to the point of harm. Unlike 宠爱 (chǒng'ài, which has a positive or neutral connotation), 溺爱 carries a clear negative judgment — it implies the indulgence is excessive and will lead to bad behavior or lack of self-discipline.
