Definition
潦草 (liáo cǎo) mainly describes messy, hard-to-read handwriting or work that is sloppy and disorganized. Compared to 草率 (cǎo shuài), which emphasizes acting hastily and rashly, 潦草 focuses more on the untidy result; and while 马虎 (mǎ hu) is a general word for carelessness, 潦草 specifically evokes a scrawled or messy appearance.
