相亲相爱 is a fixed four-character idiom (chengyu) that describes a close, affectionate relationship where people care for and love each other deeply. It's most often used for family members — especially couples or parents and children — but can also apply to close friends or a harmonious group. Unlike the verb 相爱 ('to love each other'), 相亲相爱 emphasizes both mutual affection and closeness, and it's typically used as a predicate or attributive phrase.
